Challenge: Outdated Washpipe Design
Traditional washpipes used in drilling operations fall short in today’s demanding environment. They are under- designed and unreliable, leading to inefficiencies and potential failures.
Exploration: Collaborating with Kalsi Engineering
Recognizing this challenge, Packard joined forces with Kalsi Engineering. Together, they embarked on a mission to evolve washpipe technology. Our goal was to create a solution that could withstand the needs of modern drilling practices.
Packard’s Solution: The Packard International Washpipe
The result of their collaboration was the Packard International Washpipe, powered by Kalsi’s High Performance Hydrodynamic Rotary Shaft Seals. This groundbreaking design addressed critical issues. It significantly reduced heat and friction, ensuring extended service life under the extreme conditions of high pressure, high temperature, and rapid rotations. Moreover, the Packard International Washpipe comes in both 4-inch and 3-inch inner diameters, providing versatility for various drilling applications.
